So sorry, but I no longer update this blog nor the one on MySpace. The only blog that is active now is my LiveJournal, which can be found here: ✿ c h é r i e ✿
Rachel and I went to the city on Friday because... well, frankly, we were almost driven out of our minds from sheer boredom. So people, for the love of God and my sanity, please please PLEASE stop asking me what I did this week or how Brisbane has been so far or if I finally have a boyfriend yet, because: Do I fret about how I'm not living life at the prime of my youth? Yes. Do I worry that I'll live in Brisbane for 2 years and go home having not done anything other than studying, hence wasting the opportunity? Yes. Do I feel very alone, and dream and wish that my family, all my cousins and Didi were here, so I'd be more willing to venture out of the safety of the house and truely explore Brisbane with me? Everyday. So now you know. Everytime you ask me these questions, I feel more and more miserable. So please. Go pester some other person abroad and leave me alone. Ok. Soliloquy over. I'm fine now. Back to Friday.
We went to Burger King (or as they call it in Australia, Hungry Jacks) for some gloriously unhealthy fries. Hellooo salty goodness!
I was wrecked with guilt over having bought something I did not (technically) need, but it was just so beautiful and shiiiiiiny that I could not help myself. I really must kill off that magpie tendency in me.
Anyways, it was a luxuriously soft, chocolate-brown, ruched velvet top embellished at the neckline with gold sequins. How anyone can resist that, is completely beyond me. Plus, it was on sale (AUD$12).
I poached basa fillets in lemon and butter for today's meal: prepared with a marinade of lemon juice, butter, garlic, ginger, chilli flakes, and a wee bit of tomyam; later, topped with pineapples and a sauce of lemon juice, pepper and parsley; lemon zest for aroma and a bit of colour
Sautéed and tossed: chives, carrots, ginger and sliced 'René's chilli beersticks' sausages
Celery sauce: finely chopped celery, milk, butter, cornflour, salt and pepper
Aaaah... my table is more me now....

When I get back in the first week of December, we can go over to your house and try some Martha Stewart time. ^^ Better warn your brothrs though. They might get a heart attack. lol.

Cheryl Ann Alexis said...
Simple. I held my breath. XD
Last Saturday, we went for the RiverFire bit of the Brisbane River Festival QLD. Enormous crowd and this picture only shows a veeeeeery small portion of it gathered 2 hours before the fireworks started:
Finally. Seven o'clock.
After much ooohing and aahing... here are the pixxies and a video:
Rockets!

So cool! Haha your first video on your blog =p Hee thanks for bringing the sights and the sounds to us =p hmm now if ONLY we cld have some smells... noo not of the fireworks.. but of the foooodie (of cos) ahaha...
Cheryl Ann Alexis said...
You're welcome! *hugs*
Ooo if I could send smells.... I'd save 'johnsonsbabybath.smell' Ahhh... =^p
moonbeams_n_stardust said...
U mean they dun have johnsons baby bath there??
Cheryl Ann Alexis said...
They don't seem to have the original big baby blue bottle (aaah alliteration...) here. Only other weird variations like 'almond oil', etc.
I'm not much of a computer person (I have an unfortunate tendency to crash them where ever I go... *winces*) and therefore have not set up any groups, mailing lists, archives, etc. Way much more of a prowler... forever just skulking around on the edges and every once in a blue moon putting in my two cents worth... be it wanted or not. =^)
I was a Tolkien canon purist... but... what the heck. I gave up ages ago trying to convince people that contrary to popular belief, Legolas was a brunette, not a blonde. LOL.
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, aye?
So, the purist got shoved head-first down the privy, kicking and screaming, whilst my Legolas muse gloated and did a victory jig on the toilet seat.
Anyways, I went to see FOTR all snob-like, scoffing "Bah... what's the deal with this elf that has got the oestrogen brigade's panties in a twist?"
*sheepish smile* Yes, you may all laugh at me now.
The phenomenon of the Great Golden God of a Legolas hit me with the force of a drunk troll with a sledgehammer, o' course. It was a close encounter of the third kind: A wham, bam, thank yooou, mister!
So... a dangerously obsessive
here. Everybody head for cover. Mwahehehheheh....
Right-oh. A bio, ye be asking for?
Very well. Be forewarned though. *machiavellian grin* I'm notoriously verbose. Entirely not my fault, I tell you; 'tis the melodramatic Indian blood running through my veins. The same weakness. God, I'm so lame... Aye, I do go off tangent every other line too. *sigh* Where were we? Oh yes. Bio. Onwards:
